SPT2007 - Third Circular (March 2007)

The conference SPT2007 (Symmetry and Perturbation Theory) will take
place in Otranto (South-East Italy, near Lecce) on 2-9 June 2007.

Dear Prospective participants to SPT2007,

this third circular wants to give information about, and call your 
attention to, several points:

(1) Arrival and departure days.
(2) Deadline for Hotel reservation is approaching. New infos on stay extension.
(3) Registration is open. Deadline for proposing a talk is also approaching.

(1) ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

Saturday June 2 will be arrival day: no talks are scheduled for this day. The
Conference will start on June 3 and last until the late afternoon of June 8 
(with a break for excursion/rest during the week). Saturday June 9 will be 
departure day. TRansports from/to Lecce train station and Brindisi airport 
will be organized on June 2 and 9. Updated details will be available through 
our web site. Please let us know your details once you book your flight, as bus
schedules can be adapted within some extent depending on flights usewd by 
participants and accompanying persons. About one month before the conference, 
a form will be online to this effect.

(2) HOTEL 

It is now possible to make your reservation at Hotel Daniela (prices are as
published on our website). A form to this effect is available through our website. 
See the second circular (February) or our web site for details on accommodation,
including costs and services. 

We reserved a certain number of rooms for conference participants; the rooms we 
reserved are guaranteed to be kept only until 31/3. Thus we strongly suggest you
reserve by that date if possible.

As for the possibility of extending your stay, please note the following:

(a) It is NOT possible to arrive in HOtel Daniela before 2 June. In case you wish 
to be in the area before that time, you can either book a different hotel or B&B in
the area (easily found on the web), or also you might wish to stay some days in the 
beautiful city of Lecce. In this case, we would like to mention the Maths Department 
of Universita' del Salento (the University of Lecce) has agreements at discount rates 
with several Hotels in town; to use these, please contact prof. Vitolo.

(b) On the otrher hand, it IS possible to extend your stay after the Conference. 
As the Hotel is mainly working with organized stays of one week length, we reached an 
agreement so that you can extend your stay at a reduced price -- albeit not as small 
as the one offered for the Conference -- if this is for at least three days. The rates
for three days are 189 Euro with Half Board and 202.5 Euro Full Board per person in 
shared double room, with a 45 Euro supplement for single room.

We recall that the Hotel reservation procedure is entirely handled by the Hotel, 
and not in the control of the Organizing (or even less the Scientific) Committee; so 
please try to solve any problem directly with them.

You are welcome to take as many accompanying person with you as you wish; they will 
get the same discounted rate as conference participants and are not subject to any 
conference fee. (If they do not reserve at the same time as you, please however make
sure that they mention the conference AND give the name of a reference person among 
conference participants).

(3) REGISTRATION

Registration is opened since some time. At this time our list of expected participants 
has been split into those having completed their registration and those having only 
subscribed to our mailing list. If you think you have registered, please check online 
this was safely recorded (there can be some delay in recording).

At the time of registration you can also propose a talk or poster to be presented at the 
conference. There is no deadline for registration, but there is a deadline for proposing 
a talk (this is needed to plan the program; in case too many talks are proposed, there 
will be a selection). 

If no title is given by the deadline (even if in registration you mentioned you would like 
to give a talk but not gave a specific title) we will assume you are not proposing a talk.
 
You can change your title after proposing it (please avoid substantial changes after the 
deadline for proposals!). 

It would be helpful if -- once you make up your mind -- you fill the registration form with 
no further delay: this will help both in evaluating the number of incoming persons (this 
information will of course be shared with the Hotel) and in planning scientific matters.

to avoid your mail is wrongly discarded as spam.
